The #1 question I hear in class is "How'd you do that?" Usually this question is referring to how I finished a hole for an earwire or how I attached two pieces of metal with a rivet or screw. In this class I will demonstrate "how I do that" :) You will learn how to rivet, how to use tubing and screws to add height and how to use eyelets to finish holes. We will practice these techniques on copper, however, these techniques are a great addition to your PMC pieces!
This is a great class if you are looking to take your PMC work to the next level. You will learn methods of dry construction to create hollow objects such as bezels, beads and boxes. With this technique you will be able to create settings for stones or bezel cups that can be filled with resin! You will need to bring a minimum of 25 grams of PMC to class.
In the morning you will learn the basics of working with PMC lump, syringe, paste & sheet. We will cover stone setting, texturing and embellishments. You will learn a lot of tips & tricks along the way! In the afternoon you will learn how to properly torch fire your work, create molds of items for duplication, polish your pieces and how to add color to silver using a liver of sulfur solution. This is a very comprehensive introductory class and by the time it's over, you will be comfortable working with PMC on your own. You will be provided with 10 grams of PMC in class, you are welcome to bring more if you'd like.
